I have some great party planning tips for a classy, fun and yummy Fourth of July Party! My theme is “As American as Apple Pie on the Fourth of July.” I created this theme because my mom ALWAYS makes pie for the Fourth festivities. It’s one of my favorite things about the holiday! I also love history and I created a theme that had modern elements, but also felt rustic and historical.
Rustic Elements
Country decor is probably my least favorite style, so I wanted to stay away from that…but I still wanted the Rustic feeling. I thought burlap was perfect to pull off the rustic look. I used burlap for the table cover (soooo easy) and I purchased burlap flowers from Hobby Lobby. I also thought the bead board background was super cute
For the printables, I used old fashioned lettering and chalkboard art to create a vintage look. I also created graphics that looked hand-drawn, which was really fun and I think it turned out fabulous!
Modern Elements
The biggest things that kept this party from being to “folksy” were the pops of color added throughout the table. I purchased the cupcake stands at Hobby Lobby. They originally had owls on them, so I painted them blue. The straw flags added a touch of color that made it look a little more fun (what is more fun than yellow??) My favorite pop of color came from the beautiful flowers in the Heritage Ball Jar.
I wanted red to be the most prominent color, so I used red fabric draped onto bead board and I used a red framing mat.
And because I want to make things easy for you, I created a nice little list so you can recreate this party at your home!
Food:
- Homemade Apple Pie baked in Disposable Baking Cups
- Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (I like slow-churned by Dreyer’s)
- Coca-Cola in Glass Bottles
Supplies:
- My Printable Set
- Kraft Ripple Bowls from Garnish
- Wooden Disposable Demi-Tasse Spoon from Garnish
- Bakers Twine from Spiral Sage
- All-American Paper Straws from Spiral Sage

I plan on spending the day with my family eating great food, pie and setting off fire works. What are your plans?
